Interest in working on Korea Train Indonesia


Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI) interested in working on transport infrastructure projects, especially the fast train in Indonesia. One of them, mass transportation project linking the city of Jakarta with Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Jakarta-Surabaya, which is expected to cost 20 billion U.S. dollars.
To work on the project, took KRRI Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Indonesia and has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Friday (25/03/2011).
President KRRI Sung Kyou Choi said, in addition to working on the project are interested in mass transportation, Kadin and KRRI also will help set strategy and planning for the national railway network in Indonesia. "We are planning a railway network to other major cities in Indonesia," said Choi Sung Kyou.
Kyou Sung said, KRRI will implement the technology owned by Korea to promote economic growth in major cities in Indonesia. Besides Indonesia, KRRI railway also has a strategy in Brazil.
Business Advisor Asian Economic Community Park Sung Chur said, development in Indonesia will be done by issuing cost effectively as possible. She said they will coordinate the funding it through the support of the Government of Korea and the Asian Economic Community Foundation, which focuses on the distribution and implementation of technology. "KRRI itself has been coordinating with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and the BKPM to realize this project," he said.
Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Suryo Bambang Sulisto said, cooperation with KRRI very precisely because they have high technology in the development of rail with speeds of 300 to 350 kilometers per hour. "They could bring investment to Indonesia because they have a network with Korean banks and investors there," said Suryo.
Advanced Suryo, they also took PT Industri Kereta Api (Inka) so that later the production of railway carriages can be done in Indonesia.
